Show notes from In Cóntact – The Contact Lens Podcast
To complete and conclude the story of scleral lenses, we cannot avoid visiting the pioneers in this field: not only in the Netherlands, but also worldwide. This time, we are going to Nijmegen to talk at length with Simone Visser at the practice founded by her father. Her father was one of the founders of the modern scleral lens as we know it today. How did that come about? And how has the scleral lens adapted—literally and figuratively—to its environment? In an exciting and personal conversation, we get to know Rients Visser Sr. as the founder of the scleral lens field and as a person.
This podcast is an initiative of optometrist Eef van der Worp BOptom PhD, and is made possible with financial support from a grant from the ANVC (General Dutch Association of Contact Lens Specialists).
